Resinosa Solar Light, 2021

Concrete mortar, steel, acrylic, LED light bulb, solar panel

A lamp created in a hypothetical future where humans, now living underground for centuries due to the surface of the earth being inhabitable, are creating objects that are trying to capture and romanticize their memories of nature. They are able to harvest solar energy through long solar tubes that reach the earth’s surface.

Resinosa Solar Lamp features a fake rock base, and three offset green acrylic shapes that reference the shapes of bark of a red pine tree (Pinus Resinosa), and a solar panel to charge the light (not functional in this model). The blue color of the post references the sky or bodies of water.
