Tree Chair, 2021
Birch plywoodA chair created for a hypothetical future where humans, living underground for centuries due to the surface of the earth being inhabitable, are trying to create objects that capture and romanticize their collective memories of nature.
Tree Chair is a chair that mimics the forms of a tree in a cartoonishly stylized way. Its frame is made of over-simplified two-dimensional forms of a tree, while the seat and seat back are cut along the grain of the wood, using the found forms in the plywood, which as a material is itself a version of a tree.
