Concrete, steel, pvc, foam, found objects, photography.In the fall of 2014, I began observing and photographing interesting objects I would see in cities I traveled to. I started calling them ‘municipal sculptures’, due to their functional, yet formal qualities. The objects in these photos became the foundation for my BFA Thesis. As I continued my research, I began experimenting with and creating objects using the same industrial materials that the objects I had photographed were made with. Merging my interest in lighting, I began making lights with these materials, playing with compositions and relationships between different components in each object. The following images show some of these experiments and the resulting objects.
